Heidelberg is an ancient university town in the south west of Germany,
located just where the quiet Neckar river flows out of the mountains into
the broad and warm valley of the Rhine. Its university, the Ruperto Carola,
is the oldest university in Germany, and was founded in 1386.
Among its attractions is a castle that inspired romanticists since over two centuries.
