• The "International Workshop on Assessment and Future Directions of Nonlinear Model Predictive Control" was organized by R. Findeisen, F. Allgöwer (both IST) and L. Biegler (Carnegie Mellon). It took place in Freudenstadt-Lauterbad, August 26-30, 2005.
• A "Workshop on State Estimation" was organized by L. Blank (U. Regensburg) and M. Diehl (IWR) on April 7 and 8, 2005, in Heidelberg.
• A Minisymposium "Optimization based control"(in German) was organized by S. Engell, AST, on Nov 8, 2004, at a GVC/DECHEMA meeting in Asselheim.
• A Minisymposium "Optimale Steuerung und Regelung komplexer Systeme", was organized by M. Diehl, IWR, on September 16, 2004, at DMV Jahrestagung, Heidelberg.
• A one day mini course "Introduction to and Current Issues in Nonlinear Model Predictive Control" was organized by R. Findeisen, IST, on August, 31, 2004, before NOLCOS .
• Three Minisymposia on "Optimal Control and Applications" were organized by M. Diehl, IWR, in July, 2004, at Optimization 2004, Lissabon .
• An NMPC Minisymposium at ECMI 2004, Eindhoven was organized by M. Diehl, IWR, on June 21st, 2004.
