The MAThematics Center Heidelberg (MATCH)
MATCH currently concentrates its reon the core areas Topology&Geometry, Arithmetics&Algebra, Applied Analysis&Mathematical Modelling, Numerics&Optimisation, and Statistics&Stochastics. MATCH builds research bridges between different areas within Mathematics and Applied Computer Science and into other disciplines. The center concentrates on top level research and also on education and support of young academics.
Center for Modelling and Simulation in the Biosciences (BIOMS)
The aim of BIOMS is to promote the use of modeling and simulation in the biosciences in order to achieve a quantitative understanding of biological processes, both on the molecular level and on the level of cells and tissues.
Former Collaborative Reserach Center SFB 359
The Collaborative Research Center 359 was established 1993 under the roof of IWR with the topic "Reactive Flows, Diffusion and Transport". Its funding expired in 2004.
Heidelberg Graduate School of Mathematical and Computational Methods for the Sciences (HGS MathComp)
The graduate school HGS MathComp provides a structured interdisciplinary research training program to promote the developement of new and even more powerful methods of scientific computing and to carry this methodology into new scientific territory.
